Quiz privacy notice

Version 2026-09-30.3

What is collected: one location reading — latitude, longitude and its accuracy — together with your browser family, your operating-system family and whether the device is a phone, tablet or computer, and the time the reading was taken.

What is not collected: no camera or microphone recording, no contact list, no files, no IP address in this record, no timezone or language, no browser version, and no fingerprinting of your device (no canvas, graphics, audio, font or hardware identifiers). Nothing is collected while you simply read this page, and your location is never tracked continuously — it is one reading, at the moment you start a quiz.

Why: so that your administrator can review the circumstances of a quiz attempt if a question arises about it — for example whether an attempt really came from the student it belongs to. Marks and answers are never affected by this information; it does not prove your identity or your attendance, and one reading is not treated as proof of anything on its own.

When: each new quiz attempt requires this information, collected only after you accept this notice and press Start. If your administrator allows that attempt without the information, nothing is collected. Resuming an existing attempt does not collect another reading.

How long: the location and device details are deleted from application storage 90 days after they are collected. Your marks, your answers, the record that you were asked and what was decided stay with your quiz history, as part of your academic record.

Who can see it: only authorized administrators, on the review screen for that attempt. It is never shown to other students and never appears in a notification message.

Your choice: accepting is normally required to attempt a quiz. You may refuse: your decision is recorded, your administrator is notified, and starting is blocked until they allow this attempt without the information, decline it, or offer you another chance to accept. You will receive an in-app notification of that decision, and you can withdraw acceptance for future quizzes on this page.

Browser permission is separate from this notice: allowing your browser to share a location and accepting this notice are two different answers. A permission denial or a technical problem is recorded as exactly that, and never as a refusal — the browser tells us nothing where it did not ask you.
