Common Admission Test (CAT) is one of the most important MBA entrance exam conducted across the country. CAT is taken by over two lakhs aspirants every year to get admission in 20 IIM's and other top management institutes of the country.
To crack CAT, one needs to have a complete understanding of all its three sections, i.e.,
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC),
And Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR).
Accuracy and speed play an essential role in the exam, and to get that in a quick time, one must thoroughly practice all the three sections. The level of difficulty in CAT varies from moderate to difficult. Solving questions with 100% accuracy alone will not solve the purpose, but how fast you do makes most of the difference in exams like CAT.
To achieve speed and accuracy is always recommended to practice about 30-40 mock tests before appearing in the real CAT exam. Attempting mock tests and test series of any national-level institute will give you an idea of competition in CAT.
The detailed analysis of each mock test is more critical than merely attempting it. After solving each mock test, analyze your performance, and assess the topics and sections which need improvement.
If you find your performance in any three sections, unsatisfactory sectional mock tests are recommended. You can also go for online section-wise study material of any recognized institute to substantially improve your performance in a particular section.
Do not panic if the results initially are not encouraging. It happens with many aspirants that their initial mock test results are inadequate or disheartening. However, with their consistent practice and regularity in the study, they perform invariably well in the real exam.
Some CAT test series, which are always recommended by the experts, include SimCAT by IMS, CAT Test Series by hitbullseye, CAT Test Booster by Endeavour, etc. Pick any one of the above and gear up your preparation for the upcoming CAT exam.
All the best.
